Now it’s only natural that you would only want the best when you set out to put together your indoor grow and there’s no doubt about it but that hydroponics technology for growing weed is the very latest.

Even so, there are just a few things to consider here before you plunk down your hard-earned money and make the commitment. Things that may have you taking a second look at good old-fashioned pots filled with premium growing medium.

Simply take a 5 gallon bucket and run a basic clear fish aquarium airline into the bottom of it with an air-stone attached to the end. Then run the other end of the line to a cheap aquarium air pump.

Next fill the 5 gallon bucket with gravel, and top it off with a standard soluble chemical fertilizer solution like Rapid Gro or Miracle Grow, and that’s it.

Stick a plant start into the rocks after you wash the dirt off the soil, click on the air pump and “away you go”. It’s just as simple as that and all for less than $10.

Now of course as far as cheap hydroponic growing systems go, this for sure is a bottom of the line basic model but it will work. Now if you plan on growing long-term in something like this you’ll want to add micronutrients to the solution, and also make sure that the solution doesn’t fill up over the gravel or the light can cause algae problems.
